Are your pearly whites a little less pearly….and white than you would like them to be? Do you wish for a brighter smile but are unsure of which teeth whitening method is right for you?
Have no fear, Dr. Leslie Anthony can help you with all of your whitening needs.
There are many reasons that your teeth may become discolored or stained. First, there are two different types of stains. Extrinsic and intrinsic.
- Extrinsic- When the outer layer of the tooth known as the enamel becomes stained from foods, beverages, and tobacco products. These types of stains may be removed with teeth whitening treatments.
- Intrinsic- When the dentin or deep inner structure of the tooth becomes stained yellow or gray. This may occur from some type of trauma, decay, or other hereditary factors. These types of stains cannot be removed by teeth whitening treatments.
So, what are your options for teeth whitening treatments?
The only way to remove stains from your enamel is through whitening treatments, restoring your teeth back to their natural shade of white or beyond. Your smile will be whiter and brighter. There are many different options available to brighten your smile. Consider your preferences, budget, and desired outcome.

This whitening system can significantly brighten your smile in a single office visit. Although everyone can benefit from a whitening treatment not everyone will achieve the same results. This is a great option if you are looking for fast, consistent results. This treatment takes 2-3 hours in the office and the results are immediate.
Teeth whitening is not dangerous or harmful to the teeth but may lead to some extra sensitivity after the treatment. When you leave the office, you will be given custom fitting bleach trays. These can be filled with take-home bleach gel and worn for an hour or overnight to boost your whitening as needed.
